Demystifying Miniature Quilts

Yes, you can do it!

Are you afraid of handling small pieces?? Do you feel your fingers are too big?? Do you
not know where to begin? Do you have a basket of scraps you just can’t throw away, but
are too small for your usual projects?? Take any or all of these classes and learn some
simple techniques that can eliminate some of these fears. I can demystify the process of
making miniature quilts for you.

Learn some of the simple techniques I use to make miniature quilts. In each of the first
four classes, I will teach students various techniques that will allow them to make
numerous blocks!  All examples will be done for blocks three inches or smaller, but can
be applied to any size block. After taking these classes, students should find their
sewing precision and accuracy has increased.

There will be no “one” project made in each class. Each student can take the
techniques learned and create a miniature quilt using one or more of the blocks created
in the class. For illustration, in each class I will have one simple miniature quilt using
repeats of one block, and a more complex miniature using multiple blocks learned in the
class.  Students are to go home and practice these techniques and bring their practice
blocks to the fifth class!! Homework or class blocks are required to be able to “pull it all
together.”

Take Four, Get Fifth FREE   ****  If you take each of the first four individual classes, You
can take the fifth class for free.  Please consider this option when selecting fabrics for
the classes and the sample blocks you make at home. If we are to “pull it all together”,
then the fabrics should be coordinated, or it should be totally scrappy. No one has to
take all 5 classes. Pick and choose

Classes will be held once a month. Please be sure to check for exact dates as they are
determined. These will be full day classes (10am – 4pm).  Students are requested to
bring a lunch, as going “out for lunch” is not practical within this time frame.
