Corporation's designers of fabric for their
Riverwoods Collection. Kathy is a sought after
teacher in the quilting industry. She has written
over 125 patterns and seven books to date. She
is a featured contributor in quilting books and
numerous magazines including The Quilter,
Fabric Trends, Create and Decorate, and Quick
and Easy Quilting.
Kathy is an artist at heart and chosen fabric as
her medium to express herself. Her whimsical
patterns and now fabric are designed with the
direct purpose of putting a smile on the face of
the quilter. She wants to "hook" novice quilters
into the world of quilting. What better way to do
that than with something fun!
Kathy's designs bring to the forefront colors that
have been missing from the quilter's palette,
such as fuscia, carribean blue, luscious lime
and intense yellow.
Kathy was born and raised in Baton Rouge,
Louisiana. She has been married to her best
friend, Michael, for almost 30 years. They have
one daughter, Erin, three dogs, and five cats. Erin
graduated in forensic anthropology at LSU, and
is continuing her education towards her goal of
becoming a forensic nurse / coroner. It is
doubtful that Erin will be able to incorporate
quilting into her major, but she will definitely be
the beneficiary of many works of art made from
her mother's fabrics.
With longarm quilting skills added to her palette,
Kathy has been able to round out the quilting
process from the idea of a fabric design, to the
creation of the fabric, to the making of the quilt
and quilting the finished design. With all of that
at her disposal, it's easy to see why quilting puts
a smile on her face!
